My sixth-graders attend a school in one of the lowest-income neighborhoods of Texas. Many of them come to me from elementary schools that, unfortunately, lacked the resources to truly help my students be successful. This means many of my students come in reading 1-3 grade levels BEHIND where they should be. Though their dreams are big, their progress has thus far been hindered.
