My first graders are eager and excited to learn. They have so much love for learning and their excitement is contagious! Our class is one of seven first grades in our large, 800 plus student urban elementary school. Eighty-five percent of our students are living at or below the poverty level. Despite the challenges our students face, they are resilient and overcome adversity daily.
