My students are very diverse. They come from a variety of backgrounds and many speak multiple languages. They come to me with various levels of readiness. Some are already achieving at high levels and need to be challenged to use their knowledge in various ways. Others step into my classroom unable to read on grade level. They want to succeed and do well, but need teachers who will engage them in learning and support them as needed. I seek to meet their needs by providing engaging lessons, encouraging creativity and independence, affirming them when they are successful, and promoting a positive, safe learning environment.
