My seventh graders are still at the point in their school careers where they enjoy school and learning and are eager to learn more. They are goofy, creative, chatty, and very much into their technologies (phones, computers, pads, etc.). I would love to use this interest to challenge their application of life science knowledge. I have a larger group of low level learners and am constantly looking for ways to modify and adjust content so all kids can find success. Our school has a large Latino population and 45% of our students consistently earn D's and F's in their core classes. My classes are about 25% Latino population, 15% special needs population, and about 50/50 boys and girls. Our school is located in a rural area outside of Portland which serves many low income students as well as students of parents who work for several high tech companies - so we have quite a range of students.
