I have a great group of extremely sweet and inquisitive middle schoolers. They are eager to work and learn but many are struggling readers. Our school is in need of technology and high-interest non-fiction reading materials. Our school is in the heart of the one of the poorest neighborhoods in New York City. 61% of the inhabitants of our neighborhood receive some sort of income support. 97% of my students qualify to receive free lunch.
