My school is an urban school located in Dallas, Texas. I have two roles. First, I am paid to be a computer science teacher and web mastering teacher. Second, I am mentor to two US First Robotics Teams and we have started teaching robotics as a class. I have trouble attracting students to Computer Science now that it is an elective. I teach lots of different classes, and I am constantly raising funds to fund those classes because I don't get money from our school budget. As the mentor to the US First FTC team, I need funding for both parts, registration fees, and competition fees. The goal of all of this, is to attract students to the T and E parts of STEM (Technology and Engineering), and to give my students a better future than they have now.
