Our students come from highly diverse backgrounds and many live in poverty. Many change schools several times a year and have to make new friends every time they move. Dealing with constantly changing school environments can make it hard to adjust. Materials provided from home are often scarce so most of our students rely on what the school provides for them. Our students are brave and persistent kids who have often overcome hardship that adults would struggle with. They are self reliant and independent and used to taking care of themselves in matters of daily living. Constant change of schools can make it difficult to build learning routines and to collect sufficient data in order to provide ideal individualized supports. Nevertheless, our students persevere and are unique and pawsitively amazing!
