My project needs 15 cordless microscopes and 15 human/plant cell slides sets
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. C.'s classroom raised $3,621

The need for first class scientists in the United States is immediate. The need for research-based science lessons for current students is also immediate.
I am a 5th/6th grade science teacher with only two, twenty year old microscopes for 120 children. With a classroom set of portable microscopes my students can begin to "see" what they have only read about.
Using the outdoors as our classroom and cordless portable microscopes, the students will build their own reference book of flora and fauna cells they find. The book would include journal entries of similarities and differences in different cells as well as labeled diagrams for each cell. Commercial slides will be our introductory lessons in the classroom. The magic of their "own" discoveries in the great outdoors will be of high interest and lead to analytical thinking that is so crucial to a scientist. And, this is only the beginning. The microscopes will be used throughout the year for many different science and health lessons.
Your help might fund the learning of the scientist who finds a cure for the common cold or even cancer!
