My Students
I bet you don't remember the first time you learned to read! Imagine what life would be like if you couldn't read or write?! My students are living that life right now. I am teaching special education and need hands on resources to teach the basics of letters and sounds!
My students are amazing!
They work hard and face many struggles that are out of their control. I work with students who require Special Education. They come to school ready to learn! Why not make it fun and provide activities to keep them engaged but also teach them letter sounds and names!
My Project
With the use of these hands on resources, my students will be able to learn the basics of phonemic awareness. With that knowledge, they will continue to grow and learn in reading. It can only get better!I will be able to use these phonemic hands-on resources with many different children who struggle with these basic concepts because of learning disabilities. They will learn to recognize letters and sounds. These items are tactile and colorful! They allow children to "play a game" while learning! The resources Im asking for are instant learning centers and magnetic phonemic cards that the children can use for many years.
I feel that this will make the difference in the education of students who already face more challenges than some of us will ever know.
Students who cant grasp the names and sounds of letters will have a chance to use new resources that are fun and engaging.
