Special Tools For Special Kids

My students need special education sensory tools to help them with their attention and focus, and overall mental and physical well-being.

My Students

Wiggle worms, hair twirlers... More than anything I want my students to love school and look at it as a positive experience. With these sensory assisting tools, my little ones who struggle with sitting on the rug, or in a seat for concentrated listening times will have a new and better experience.

Every single one of my amazing first graders have a different brain.

It is wired differently, and therefore functions differently. Some of these exceptional kiddos need specific tools to be able to access school as successfully as their peers. Some call them wiggle worms, but it often goes beyond the regular excitability of being young. In our class it is sensory needs stemming from medication, delayed brain development, or some sort of processing disorder.

My Project

I am looking for wonderful but costly special education products. I would have bought these items long ago for my students if they were not so expensive. These are items that are an investment in the well-being of students for many years to come. The items we need include: -An inflatable seat wedge for students who need to move while sitting. This is helpful for students with ADHD and sensory processing disorders. -Hearing Protector headphones for fire-drills, assemblies and music class. -Weighted lap pads for calming overexcited sensory systems. -A brain Gym book to help give me movement activities to do with all the students. -A ball seat for students who need to bounce or move while seated. -A cross sectional model of the brain so I can show my students where learning is taking place, and how we can improve our learning by working for the brain.

I truly want my classroom to be the best possible place for each student that walks through my doors.

I want to develop and grow my teaching to fit each student's learning style, and brain and body needs. I am asking you to help me make this happen. Help me change these children's lives by getting these special education tools. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you.
