This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Have you ever been printing a document or a photograph and the color changed from black to pink or blue? If that happened, one of your ink cartridges had just run out. On a document, that may not be too bad, but if you are printing a photograph, it can be a pain. Please help this not happen to my students.
The students I teach attend a dedicated visual and performing arts high school in Georgia where they are required to select a major and continue on that path, whether it is in Visual Arts, Communication Arts, Dance, Theater, or Music, for the duration of their high school career.
Along with the challenging arts classes, students are taking advanced academic coursework as well as staying involved in a number of extracurricular activities. These students are highly motivated and extremely talented and strive to be the best that they can be.
My Project
Thanks to a number of generous donors, my classroom received an Epson 3880 from DonorsChoose. This Epson printer will now allow students to have full creative control over the entire digital photography process in a true digital darkroom. A number of other generous donors also helped my class get paper for this new printer. Now that my classes have the printer and paper, the students need ink to print their photographs in living color and not have to worry about if the ink will run out before their prints are finished. The ink will allow students to print all photos for assignments in-house and not have to stress about how their prints will turn out if they do not have control over the printing process.
As a class, we are trying to keep up with the times and progress into the digital world.
This ink, along with the donated printer and paper, will allow the students to flourish and produce high quality photographs and stretch themselves artistically with full control over the digital photography process.
