Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Most of the scholars in our classroom have read all of the books in our library! If you have ever had trouble finding a book to read, you know how they feel.

My students are amazing young women who love to read and get lost in fictional stories.

They are in the 5th grade and have incredibly curious minds. They are challenging themselves to read at least 25 books this school year. And many of them are already nearing that goal. My students drive their own reading motivation, they researched and proposed a list of books to add to our library that would not only interest them, but challenge their reading as well.

My Project

As our scholars near their goal of reading 25 books this school year, they are running out of books to read! Fulfilling our request for books will inspire these young women to keep reading and meet the 25 book challenge. The books we are asking for are literally from the scholars themselves. They asked for these books on our classrooms "library wish list".

Your donations will help our scholars reach their goal of reading 25 books this school year.

They are so close to reaching that goal! Without this project I fear that some will read books that are not challenging enough, or worse...books that they have no interest in! I want to keep their curious minds fed with enough reading to last the school year.
