Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help us fill our sensory table with different materials so that we can learn by using our hands, fingers and thumbs.
My students are Pre-Kindergarten students who are all from low income families.
The majority of my students, or I like to call them, my little friends, come from non-English speaking families. These precious children have had very few early learning experiences, which is why they have earned a placement in my classroom. Each of them are very curious about the world around them, and enjoys learning through exploration.
My Project
My little friends enjoy working at the sensory table in our classroom. Having access to different materials in the sensory table, such as confetti and various types of sand, will help my little friends broaden their learning, by using extended vocabulary and using their sense of touch. Being able to use tools, like a brick building set and sand wheel, will teach my little friends about cause and effect and improve their problem solving skills.
The sensory table lends itself to many different ways that young children can learn.
Learning through senses, creates lasting impressions on the brain, which allows children to retain what they have experienced. Please help my little friends fill their sensory table and expand their learning through their hands, fingers and thumbs.
