Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The main challenge my students face are living in a low-income community. Many of my students are required to take care of themselves and have little to no help with education at home. I try my best to make my classroom a safe, comfortable environment that is their home away from home.
My students are all ELL students.
I have 24 total students, 16 boys and 8 girls. Each student is wonderful in his/her own way. They attend a public school in a low-income community. There is little/no parent support, which makes it a little difficult to have at-home support. My students are everything to me!
My Project
Having an ELMO document camera in the classroom will enrich literacy activities on a daily basis!! I would be able to place any piece of text, and have it viewable for the entire class to see, and use for literacy activities. I can also use several photographs, which can enrich my ELL students' vocabulary, an important piece of teaching students that are ELL learners!
This is a tool that I can only dream of having in my classroom.
It is something I wish I could afford to purchase but can not. I can already imagine all the wonderful activities I can do if I had one. It can also be shared with the other classrooms!!I hope this happens, for me, and my students!
