My Students
Can you describe the amazement you had when you first held an iPad, iPod, or iPhone? Imagine the projects a student could create with an Apple computer in their hands. With many schools facing budget cuts today, school districts often do not wish to replace aging computer equipment.
I teach gifted education in a Title I Georgia public school (which means over 40% of the students are on free and reduced lunch).
The students I work with have a wide range of abilities. Currently our school is in need of computers. Working with students to create multimedia projects can be difficult with the proper equipment. Students often have big ideas and dreams, but do not have the materials needed to complete them.
My Project
The Mac minis I am asking for would provide these students the opportunity to work with Apple computers. The reason I am looking for Macs is the simplicity of use, and the creativity they breed with the various software, such as Garage Band, iWeb, and iWork. By purchasing Mac minis, I can utilize spare keyboards, mice, and monitors to work with them, and thus get more Mac for the dollar amount.
By putting Apple computers in the hands of these students, you will help inspire and motivate these children to create and dream.
Podcasts, websites, eBooks, and more can be created, and ideas can become a reality for these lucky students.
