Superstar Student Showcase: Middle School Students Shine

My students need a photo printer, ink and paper to improve school spirit by showcasing student achievement with pictures of sports, academic competitions and projects around campus.

My Students

Bare, concrete walls serve as the entrance way to our school and academic building. The cold exterior and hallways do not reflect the positive learning environment happening in the classrooms.

We have a diverse ethnic and socioeconomic school of about 550 students.

There are students whose parents are professors at the university down the road and we have students whose parents never finished high school. This disparity contributes to both the richness and achievement gap of our school. Over 50% or our students qualify for free or reduced price lunch.

My Project

A picture is worth a thousand words. Imagine walking into a school where students, parents and people in the community can see the great things that are happening in the school. We want to showcase through photos events like the winning touchdown, spelling the winning word of the spelling bee, the rocket launch in science class. To do this, we need a photo printer, ink and paper. These items will improve school spirit by sharing student achievements around campus.

The intention is to brighten the concrete walls of the school with images of our students' smiling faces and achievements.

Having a photo printer allows us to recognize more students on a regular basis. I envision students feeling honored to be recognized and proud to show their friends and family the good work they are doing.
