Our school has adopted Math Trailblazers, a hands on, concept based math program which teaches young learners to think critically about math concepts. There are many great aspects of the program, but we are also facing some challenges in its implementation. One challenge is that many lessons call for literature links--- stories that are used to introduce or extend a lesson. These books are not part of the program, but actual literature that teaches math concepts. We do not have a library at our school... so I spend much of my time trekking back and forth to the library to check out the titles needed to teach our math lessons. Sometimes I am unable to get the books, and the lessons suffer as a result. I would like a set of these books to share with my grade level team. As a first grade teacher, I feel that my students need and would benefit from the exposure to these math concepts in literature. Please help us complete our math program so we can teach the lessons to the fullest extent! Thank you for your consideration.
