Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Have you ever heard of the book "Every Thing that I Needed to Learn I Learned it in Kindergarten"? Well kindergarten is not like it use to be. In fact you might not recognize it if you saw it. I would like to change that, and with your help I will.

I teach in a low income area where the only way to get out is through a good education.

But in order to obtain that, your mind has to be open to all possibilities. As a student you will have to figure out different ways to solve problems, how to create something out of the materials you are given. The Block Area is one way young students gain these skill.

My Project

My students will use these materials to create different environments that will require the skills of figuring out what shapes go together in order to produce the building they want. They will learn how to cooperate, listen ,take turns with others and understand that sometimes they can not do every thing they want. Sometimes they might have to compromise. The block area will introduce these skills and more.

So if you believe these skills are important and I know you do please take the time to donate to this project and help some kindergarten students build a new world that they have created.
