My students need a 27 inch monitor to use in the student-led writing center, so that peers can easily view documents and collaborate on writing.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Woods's classroom raised $533

My Students
We are starting a new project: a student-led writing center. At the Writing Center, students of all grade levels (9-12) will be able to review their writing with well-trained peers. Right now, we have a classroom space and teacher supervisors, but very limited supplies.
The students working in the writing center were recommended by their English teachers because they are hard-working, friendly, and not afraid of writing!
They are all juniors and seniors of varying talents and abilities, and they are all willing to give up one class period a day to help their fellow students with writing assignments. The writing center student-consultants know that they will be learning right along with the student clients. It's a win-win situation.
My Project
With the students' help, we hope to make the writing center classroom different than other school spaces. We plan to have at least three stations with computers, and we'd like to have large monitors (27 inch) so that students can comfortably work together on electronic documents.
The student-led writing center is one of few initiatives that has the potential to help all students.
Whether working in the center or visiting for help with a paper, students will be able to find reward and satisfaction sharing their writing with peers.
