My students need materials such as books, biographies, maps, and a globe for Social Studies because we don't have a curriculum or materials at this time.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us map our future! My students are active 1st grade learners and they really enjoy learning about Social Studies. Unfortunately, our school does not have enough materials for them to use. I am asking for these materials in order for the students to have more hands on and interactive learning.
My school is located in a big city in Illinois and the majority of students who attend come from low income, Hispanic families.
It is located in the inner-city and there are no funds for social studies materials. Even though my students don't have all the materials, they are very excited about learning and we try to have as much fun learning in our room. I want to provide these materials for them because they deserve the best education that I can give them.
My Project
These resources will be a wonderful addition to our classroom. Through these materials, students will be able to explore history, geography, social skills, and holidays. These books and maps will provide them with the materials they need to learn. During this past year, while teaching social studies, I had to use paper books printed off the internet or a map on my projector that doesn't always work. I am asking for biographies of important people in American history because it is important for them to know about the past.
I am also asking for a map of the United States and a globe of the world because many times during the past year, students asked me where places were and I did not have a map to show them. I am also asking for books about holidays that are celebrated throughout the year. It is important for students to know the significance behind the National Holidays that we celebrate during the year.
I believe that this is a very important project for the students in my room.
Social Studies is a very important part of learning that is often pushed aside because schools don't have the resources to provide the materials. By funding this project, you will be helping my students by providing them with the Social Studies materials they need to learn about history, geography, holidays, and social skills.
