Welcome to the Peep Show!! Embryology With 8 Year Olds!
My students need a chicken egg exploration kit and fiction and nonfiction books for our embryology unit.

My Students
The chicken or the egg; which came first? Why choose? How about learning about both! This has been the most "egg"citing part of my first year teaching second grade. What could be more thrilling to an 8 year old (or adult) than watching chicks emerge from their eggs?!
Well, being able to see what's inside before it hatches, of course!
We are lucky to have such a wonderful local 4-H program to provide fertilized chick eggs and an incubator for our life cycle unit. However, my inquisitive students want to know everything there is to know about the egg, the chicken, and everything in between.
My Project
We are requesting a set of egg models that show the development of the chicken inside for all 21 days of the incubation period. To supplement the unit, we would also love to get our hands and brains into some wonderful fiction and nonfiction chicken-themed books. We chose everything from poetry to an encyclopedia for our reading pleasure.
By donating to our proposal you would be enriching a classroom of children who love to learn something new everyday.
The books and egg models would further the understanding of how chicken develop and make it possible to compare it to other life cycle.
