My Students
“When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.” As we are preparing to head into a 4th year of education budget cuts, I must be the one who MAKES it happen for the students in my classroom.
Most of my students are from low income families.
We live in a small town with less than 9,000 people. There are around 800 children attending our elementary school. It is the only elementary school in our town. We serve a variety of students from multi-ethnic backgrounds. My classroom is also an inclusion classroom. I currently have 3 inclusion students.
My Project
Our school has not received supply money in over 3 years. Through several grants I have been able to obtain an LCD projector, laptop, projector screen, and mobile computer station for use in my classroom. A wireless tablet will enable me to be more flexible with my current technology. It will also allow for students to actively participate in the use of these items. Since we do not have a SmartBoard, this wireless tablet will create a more interactive lesson with the technology I currently have.
This donation will allow me to better serve the needs of my students who are already lacking the technology resources that they need so desperately. I use will use the technology daily to assist with phonics, visual arts, mathematics, and science instruction.
This item will be a permanent fixture in my classroom and will benefit students for years to come.
William James once said "The greatest way to spend ones life is by doing something that will outlast it." Will you join my on my journey to make the future a little brighter?
