My Students

"Once a new technology rolls over you, if you're not part of the steamroller, you're part of the road," Stewart Brand said. I want my students to go full steam ahead in the world of technology.

My students attend a diverse urban, rural, and suburban school district on the border of a Native American reservation.

Many of my students do not own a computer at home and the only exposure they have to one is at school. With computers in my classroom, I can increase their exposure!

My Project

I will integrate the netbook into various lessons in order to maximize students' interactions with it. Students will be able to utilize the computer in all content areas. In addition, having a netbook in the classroom will allow students to have access to it throughout the school day. My students are curious learners. A netbook will give them the chance to access current information to research topics they are interested in.

As an educator it is my responsibility to make sure my students are always moving full steam ahead in life.

They have great potential to be steamrollers, and it is my purpose to make sure they never become part of the road.
