My students need a science library of both fiction and non-fiction books to build upon their love of science!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. D.'s classroom raised $841
This project is fully funded
My Students
I am the 5th grade science teacher at a high-need, charter school located in an urban setting. The mission of our school is to be a student-focused community where all students develop the intellectual, academic, and social skills needed to understand and take action on issues they encounter in life.
My young scientists are beginning to take ownership of their ability to be agents of change in their community.
At our school we work hard to empower our students to change the world in which they live now. In order to meet the mission of our school and the intrinsic passion demonstrated by our students I am trying to correlate their desire to change their world with scientific investigations, literacy, exploration and data.
My Project
This project will fund the purchase and creation of a science library in my classroom. Each of the books will be used for student check out, to enrich individual lessons and at times will be shared as read-aloud texts as the closing or introduction to a lesson. I am requesting 9 science titles, and four science book sets.
Literacy is the key to success!
By funding this project you will make it possible for inner-city students to change their world through learning about science! Thank you so much for your consideration in supporting our efforts!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
