My Students

Have you ever seen the glow on a child's face when they realize they can read? I love to see this and would love to be able to put books in their hands that make them feel successful and fulfilled!

We live in a small rural town in Southeast Georgia.

Our students are from a wide range of economic backgrounds. We have varying ranges of abilities that enter our Kindergarten classes. Even though some of our students begin Kindergarten with very little school experience, the more that they are exposed to, the greater their success level.

My Project

I am asking for 3 sets of readers for my Kindergarten students. These readers are Emergent readers, Non-fiction sight word readers, and Fiction sight word readers. These readers will allow my students to build their reading and fluency skills. They will turn my students into successful and confident readers who can say "I can read this!"

With the economic situation being what it is, teachers need all the help and support that they can get to reach ALL learners.

This project will help put sight word readers and easy readers into the hands of 5 and 6 year old students to make them feel like they are true readers!
