My students need white-board markers in order to decode and recode new words, to write sight words, and to create sentences on their white-boards during carpet time.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. LEAHY's classroom raised $176

My Students
Almost every single one of my students lives below the poverty line. I have been blown away by the donations parents have sent into my classroom, but financially, my school and my parents, cannot fully support our classroom needs. We need your help.
My students are adorable and "work hard to get smart" every day.
They attend a Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. Our class is very diverse, with students from Mexico, Cuba, and Iraq. My students believe that they have been chosen by Barack Obama to complete a secret mission this year in kindergarten: to learn how to read and write. They work hard every day to accomplish this mission.
My Project
Our school is struggling financially. We do not have any more money to spend on classroom supplies. White board markers will help our class sound out words, to blend them together, to write sight words, to write basic sentences, and to write down rhyming words. I have white boards ready to use, but the white board markers we have from the beginning of the year have lost ink. It would make a huge difference for my students if they could use these markers because it would enable them to reuse the same surface again and again without ever needing to use paper (another resource our school can no longer provide for us). In this way, we will be growing our brains while being both economically and environmentally sustainable.
My students work hard every day.
Unfortunately, our school and neighborhood are struggling financially: neither can afford to send more supplies into my classroom. White board markers may seem simple, but they will enable us to work on our phonics and phonemic awareness every day without ever needing to waste paper. Additionally, you will help my students have fun, since they love writing on white boards. Your donation will help them to work even harder to get ready for first grade. Thank you.
