We need to raise our whiteboard! Actually, we need to retire it. Please help us with a new one.
Our district, much like many others, has faced severe budget cuts.
We have lost our small class sizes and are now up to 30 students per teacher. At the same time, our supply budget has decreased to $100 per year. I am not able to buy the necessary items for my class - let alone what could be seen as a luxury item such as a whiteboard.
My Project
I currently have a whiteboard that I use for all carpet time, small groups and basic daily needs. It only stands 3 feet tall, is made of wood, and is falling apart. A new, taller whiteboard would allow all of my students to see what I am writing or working on.
With the current whiteboard, my students must sit in staggered lines so they can all see over their classmates heads.
A new whiteboard will also provide a safer environment for my students.
