My Students

I don't know about you but I LOVE a good mystery! Nothing is better than picking up a good mystery novel and trying to piece together the clues before the end of the book. Help me introduce my students to this wonderful genre of writing so that they can fall in love with this genre too!

I am extremely excited to loop up to the next grade with my class this year.

My students are eager and ready to learn. I teach in a school that is high-poverty and many of my students receive free or reduced lunches. For many of the students I teach, school provides the only opportunity they have to explore new ideas and discover what different books can offer.

My Project

With these materials my students will be able to really dive into the genre of mystery. We will use these books to not only learn about the investigative process but also use our new found detective skills to infer what is going to happen in the story.

It is my hope that by providing these materials to my students that they will gain a deeper understanding of how to infer when they are reading.

I also hope that the skills that they will learn from this unit will help them to develop their critical thinking skills.
