My students need 20 flash drives.

Technology is both a help and a hindrance in our school, I want to bridge that gap for students as much as possible. Having a flash drives allows my students to get accustomed to using and mastering them by the time they get to college. Many students do not have access to technology and computers.
These students are from the biggest school district in the area, yet we are the poorest.
99% of the students are on free-reduced meals. For most of my students, extra financial requirements are hard, if not impossible, to fulfill. Many of these students will be the first in their family to attend college. Students at our school struggle with basic necessities yet want to do well in school.
We live in a world where access to information improves with every passing year. Our school is project-based, and students need to have a way to store their work throughout their time in high school. They will use their stored work to present and defend a portfolio for promotion to advanced computer classes. Flash drives are common, yet so many of my students do not have them. Providing each student with a personal flash drive will help my students maximize their success and break down social-economic barriers. Information is only useful to students if it is easily accessible. I want to employ the use of technology more often in my classroom, and being able to provide flash drives is a vital first step.

My students need flash drives to save work to improve access to their digital work from school to home, and future college aspirations.
