My Students

Imagine a group of students playing with a dollhouse. They are sharing and taking turns acting out home life. Now imagine them using broken furniture and dolls that are missing body parts. This is an image of my dollhouse center.

I teach kindergarten at an early education center.

The school has ECI, pre-k and kindergarten. Many of my students receive free or reduced lunch. We receive Targeted Title I funding. Some of my students are learning English as a second language. My students come to school each day eager and excited to learn!

My Project

The dollhouse center is one of my students favorite places to play. We have a wooden dollhouse that is in great shape. The people and furniture are broken and falling apart. Most of the wooden furniture is broken or missing. I have had to throw many pieces away because it has come unglued and won't stay together when I try to fix it. We have one grandpa, 3 moms, a baby, and a sister. Sometimes I make new people by taping faces on our current dolls when the students want a dad or brother.

My students would love to have new dolls and furniture.

The dolls and furniture would help my students develop their communication skills through play. They will also be able to use their imaginations when playing with the new items. Using the dolls and furniture can help them develop problem solving skills. Thank you for donating to donors choose.
