Black Box Theatre Project

My students need interlocking floor mats to help transform our classroom into a black box theatre.

My Students

Our school does not currently have a performance space for my students to be able to show off their theatrical talents.

My students are talented middle school kids who are eager to express themselves.

They are currently taking my drama class and will learn acting techniques and dramatic theories that will help them to be able to perform in front of an audience. These are important skills necessary for ones growth as an individual and skills that they will be able to take with them throughout life.

My Project

By creating a black box theatre they will be able to have a multi-purpose performance space. They will be able to change the space according to their performance needs. The mats will be used to not only to enhance the acoustics within the space, but also to help darken the room for blackout purposes.

Everyone, at some point in their lives, finds themselves in front of an "audience," be it on a job interview, during a graduation speech, or during a professional presentation.

The ability to speak in front of others is a necessity. It is a skill that will help students now and later on in life.
