Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the most hardworking, dedicated individuals who care about family and the true meaning of determination. My students are not only influenced by the 24/7 “oilfield” workforce, but are also pressed to be the big brother/sister who is to only go to work, go home, and repeat. That is the honest truth. But our students overwork themselves to a point where we need the best workout equipment that hammers those athletes to excel in their given sports and be able to go work after school (with the small time frame we are given). They have the best attitudes and are usually the best acting, self-driven students in the classroom. They deserve to have the best equipment. Please help me give that to them.
My Project
The materials shown in the list will help my cross country and track students become faster, stronger, and more agile when it comes to racing against top competitors. Any little item makes a huge change to our student-athletes being the best and reaching their full potential! They will learn how to grow as a team player and a strong competitor. We, as a team, share the idea of being as one family and as one unit. This will allow our students to feel as part of something larger than themselves and have them push each other to their limitless power. The watches are for my students to learn the essence of timing and keeping themselves accountable on times. They cannot afford to buy the watches that are needed for timing and mapping out miles. This will be ultra-beneficial for them. The agility ladder, medicine balls, and balance trainer will definitely work on the core structure of each runner. This will enhance our core strength and allow us to be strong in the core abdomen. The cones will make our legs move stronger and instruct our kids to stretch and reach for each cone to make our stride lengthen over the course of time. The power sled is to work on our form and be strong with each sprint interval.
