My Students

My students are in an alternative program in a rural Alaskan high school. Our village is a small fishing village. We have a high drop-out rate. Our alternative program has successfully returned many students to school to pursue their education.

Our school has a high drop-out rate, but our alternative program has helped many students return and make progress toward their graduation.

In 2009 three students graduated. In 2010 nine graduated. Some of my students are single parents, and some have had problems with drugs or alcohol resulting in criminal charges.

My Project

Many students find math difficult. For that reasons these graphing calculators will enable my students to work on more complex math problems, and yet have fun at the same time. More and more math problems in the real world are solved through tools, such as these graphing calculators.

Helping my students become familiar with these tools will enable them to get ahead in a variety of professions.

From mechanics to airplane navigation, from working with GPS devices, math presents challenges to everyone in today's world. Your assistance in the purchase of these graphing calculators will help my students get a head start with improved math skills.
