My Students
We want to "fly" as we learn about owls. It would be wonderful learn about owls through a scientific investigation that lets us get our hands right into it!
My students are from seven to nine years old.
They are from working class and middle class families, and they love to learn. They were selected to be in my combination class because they are independent thinkers and learners and could use learning extensions in the form of owl pellet investigations!
My Project
We are going to have an owl investigation month. A big part of that investigation will revolve around an owl pellet study. Using the clues we find from the investigation, we will be able to find out what owls eat, and about the food chain of the owl. We want to get our "talons" into a great subject!.
When you give a child an amazing way to learn, they learn faster, better and really grow in a hundred ways.
My students and I would like to take an "owl journey" and be scientists, using owl pellets as a jumping off point.
