This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently work at OHS. I am new to the school and district this year. Our district is considered a Title I district. However, our school does not fall under this, but we have a very low socioeconomic status of our students. I am the athletic trainer and we are lacking several rehab as well as the current modalities to help treat our athletes who are competing in the 6A division. Our students would run through a wall for us because we give them stability and a safe place to come and perform at the highest level possible.

My Project

This will allow athletes to maintain conditioning while they are rehabbing from an injury that has them out of play. This will also help with our Concussion management for all sports at OHS. This is part of the Texas Law that they must undergo a 5-day return to play period.

The Elliptical and Rower equipment will allow us to have access to the conditioning equipment in the training room.

This will allow the athletic trainers to monitor them during their return to play protocol. This will also not displace the athletic trainer from their office while they are helping other athletes with rehab.
