Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Imagine having a learning disability and facing the daunting task of completing homework each night. For most of my students homework is a real challenge. I want to do everything I can to help my students practice skills I've taught in class, but in a fun and easy way that causes little to no stress.

Welcome to my classroom!

I am a veteran special education teacher who loves teaching and my students. I work in a Title 1 School in Virginia. Our school is located near several major military installations and we serve many dedicated military families. My students are sweet and enthusiastic learners with special needs that include Specific Learning Disabilities, Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Other Health Impairments. Many of my students have active duty military parents so their families are facing multiple challenges each day. That's why I try so hard to make every moment in my classroom count. My students are always engaged in learning to read and do math. Time is precious to my kids and when they get home they need to be kids and not be overwhelmed with difficult homework assignments that don't inspire. And parents need an evening without fighting to get homework done.

My Project

Please help give my students the best school help available with colorful and engaging workbooks and the Homework Helpster for third grade. Featuring an easy to use stand-up, stand-out format, this guide includes the latest fast facts to make homework easier. The core curriculum in 200 full-color, at-a-glance flip cards divided into 4 sections: Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Subject dividers make answers quick and easy to find. The kid-friendly full-color maps, pictures, charts, keywords, and diagrams make learning easy. Fun, brief kids lessons provide math help, English help, science help, and more to build knowledge and reading comprehension. Compiled by third grade teachers using core curriculum and standards, each entry focuses on a key concept. "Homework Helpster" is the one reference every 3rd grader needs. Homework help is on the way!

One of the biggest complaints I hear from parents each year is how difficult it is to get their special needs kids to do their homework each night.

Won't you help me help them with fun and engaging materials that will make homework time fly.
