My Students

Science truly Rocks! Enter our class and you will see tree sprouts, recycled paper we created, working Science Labs, but we need more.

"Our district is a high scoring district with “hard working” students.

The students have learned these skills from their parents, but their parents are struggling due to the economic times. I teach the Read 180 fifth grade class and my students struggle to read the science text let alone understand the vocabulary words. These students perform at a level 1 or 2 on the FCAT test which is our state test. The easiest way for the students to grasp the meaning of these terms is for them to do science labs. I would love for my students to show that they know the meaning of these terms or that they have made a years growth.

My Project

I need Science Tubs to help the students understand the terminology or vocabulary. The libraries are a great opener for the lessons and another way of incorporating reading into our day. These Science Tubs are a fun way for the students to visually see the terms and the way they function. This creates a picture in their head and allows the child to remember the term and its function later on in life. The Scientific Method needs to be repeated consistently in order for the test to be prove and for the children to grasp the concept.

You have the ability to bring the world of scientific discovery to the children in a fun and safe way.

You will make it possible for them to get the foundation of how things work they don't get anywhere else. With your donations you will help my students become scientist, today, tomorrow, and in the future. You may be helping the next Albert Einstein.
