Knowledge is power. When you pick up a new book you don't know where it might take you. Some of my students have never taken this journey, but deserve to experience the joy a truly interesting book can give. We live in a rural area where reading is not often emphasized. Reading is important to us!
I teach about seventy-five students.
Among these students are special education students who need extra incentive to read a book. My students are willing to learn and need all the resources that we can acquire. This is a small town with some really great people. However, our school board is making major budget cuts, not leaving much room to buy new books. My students need a challenge;they need something interesting to read.
My Project
These books sets will be used in literature circles. This will allow the students to choose the book they want to read. Students will work together to gain an understanding of each book. The groups can then switch books and embark on a whole new reading adventure. The books I have chosen are high interest, and the kids will love them!
These books will give my small town students to take their learning to new heights.
These books may spark a love for reading in the hearts of my students. Please pick us; we pray for books!
