"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." was famously stated by Confucius. I believe this quote's point is more important for today's students than for any other generation.
I have every kind of student there is, but we are fortunate to be at a great school.
As fantastic as our school is, though, we are just like most other schools today in that we are not overflowing with extra money for resources. My students are very typical of the current generation: they need high interest, engaging ways to learn. Old ways of teaching won't work anymore with them as they have been exposed to more new inventions than any of us could have ever dreamed of.
My Project
The activities my students will be able to do with these iPod Touches are only limited by our imagination. One of my most important goals for them is to use them to practice their math skills though fun and and engaging games. In addition, I would like the students to play language arts games, listen to reading, and read e-books on them.
This project will not only increase students' academic and technology skills and understanding, but also allow the students to have fun while doing it!
We know that the early years of students' learning impact them dramatically. You would be part of them becoming a lifelong, confident learner.
