My Students
In our high poverty school, my students face challenges everyday in attempting to prepare themselves for college. Most are extremely dedicated but simply lack the resources to provide items such as AP exam preparation books for themselves. Your donation will give them a chance to succeed!
I teach in a Title I (high poverty) high school in Georgia.
Most of my students must work to help support their families. In addition, they take on extremely difficult course loads, some taking as many as 4 or 5 Advanced Placement courses during their senior year. While they are very dedicated to their goal of attending colleges and universities after high school, it is sometimes difficult to adequately prepare them for these exams with the limited funding available from the school.
My Project
The 5 Steps to a 5 AP Psychology review book is one of the most comprehensive resources I have found thus far for helping students to prepare for the AP examination in May. While I have personally purchased 2 copies, that is simply not sufficient for all of my students to have access to them. If this request is funded, I will be able to check out these books to the students in my rapidly growing program to allow them ample time with the books and the ability to really glean knowledge from them.
In the years I have taught AP courses at this school, I have watched my programs grow.
AP Psychology especially appeals to students who are not typical AP students. However they have discovered a passion for Psychology, and these books will help supplement their studies, thus allowing them the opportunity to do well on the exam.
