My Students

My students are struggling math learners. Many have never felt success in math. Because of this in my classroom I try to do things a little differently. I always provide lots of classroom materials that my students are able to use.

Many of my students do feel successful in my class despite their previous math classes and work really hard.

My students are hard workers and show up every day despite difficult situations they face in their life outside of school.

My Project

These calculators will help my students who cannot afford basic supplies for class.Technology like graphing calculators are needed in math class. As students progress in their math classes, the need for calculators increases.

Getting students used to working with calculators now, will help them later.

Once I have calculators for my students, I will also have more flexibility to create activities since I know that I will have the appropriate materials.

Students will also feel more confident in class when they have the materials needed without having to worry about providing a calculator. They can concentrate on exploring and learning mathematical concepts.
