This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach elementary music (Kindergarten through 5th grade) for students in a high need community.
My students love to sing, dance, and show each other the things they learn in music. However nothing excites or motivates them more than when they have the chance to see themselves perform. Unfortunately this is not always possible because of our limited resources.
My students need a high definition video camera with a zoom and a memory card. The HD quality of this camera will ensure that my students can see and hear everything clearly. The more we can see and hear, the more we can assess and become better musicians. The zoom feature will allow my students to see their performances regardless of whether they are in the classroom or far away on the stage.
Music can open many doors for students who might not otherwise have an opportunity. This project will help my students be more excited about music and become better musicians in the process. Who knows? Your support just might be the encouragement a child needs to become the next Beethoven!
