Everyone wants to communicate. My students have very little verbal ability but a lot to say. I teach a class of students from grade 7-12 with severe autism. We are a class made of of students from all across the our district.
My students have a lot to say but struggle getting it out. My students who have autism struggle with communication and interacting with the world around them.
Students will utilize iPod Touch to increase interaction, verbal response, and participation in language opportunities.
Non-verbal students will increase social development and language communication by accessing resources for the iPod Touch on the internet that connect curriculum to auditory, visual and textual modalities.
You will give the students in my special education class the opportunity to access curriculum, promote independence and motivate them to interact verbally with their peers, teachers, and those within their community.
