My Students

My students are struggling math learners. Many have never felt success in math. Because of this in my classroom I try to do things a little differently. I always provide lots of classroom materials that my students are able to use.

Many of my students do feel successful in my class despite their previous math classes and work really hard.

My students are hard workers and show up every day despite difficult situations they face in their life outside of school.

My Project

Having a set of TI 84 CE calculators in my classroom will help me plan exciting lessons.

Instead of talking about how a kicking a ball creates a parabola, we would be able to do it.

I would be able to have students take pictures of themselves and then put it into the the calculators to analyze. I will create exciting lessons in the calculators for the students to actively engage in. After attending the NCTM conference this past spring, I learned a lot about how I could use the calculators to create engaging math activities. The only way to guarantee that my students have calculators is to make sure I have them for them.
