"My 9th Algebra students see themselves as failures in math and in my classroom, failures do not exist. Basic operations can be very challenging to some people. My students easily get confused with signed numbers and that alone won't allow them to move on because they are so caught on that fact. With the help of TI-83 graphing calculators, students will feel more confident in being able to try out more challenging math topics. TI 83 calculators can also be used on the state regents, which is great because there are many shortcuts on this calculator that can be taught to students. My students will be forever grateful to know that there are people in this world that do want them to succeed. Many of them do not feel they can succeed and these calculators will bring them one step closer, along with my assistance.
My students need 5 TI-83 graphing calculators.

Dear Phillip & Ellie, Roger, Daniel, Andrew, Joseph, Cristina, David, Michael, Margaret and Anonymous Donors,
Thank you so much for donating to my school's need for TI-83 Calculators. My students were excited to see them and know that they came from individuals who truly value their education. They have been using them in groups of 5, since we only requested 5 for the time being and there are roughly 25 - 30 students in the classroom. However, the students find them easier to handle then the regular non scientific/graphing calculators that the school was able to afford previously. The 5 calculators will be used by my most challenged students during their state exam. They have learned the value of graphing through the calculators and have developed a better sense of calculations because of them. I appreciate what you have done for my school and I commend you. My students understand that times are rough and that while we haven't been able to get a class set, 5 is better than nothing and we are excited knowing that we have something more appropriate to their learning styles. Thank you once again. With gratitude, Ms. T.

Dear Phillip & Ellie, Roger, Daniel, Andrew, Joseph, Cristina, David, Michael, Margaret and Anonymous Donors,
I cannot express how excited and emotional I am right now!! Thank you SO MUCH for making a difference in the lives of my students! My students and I truly appreciate this gift! I can't wait till they see for themselves when I receive the package. 5 calculators will help a group of 5-6 students and hopefully with time we will be able to get more donated to us. My students rarely get recognized about the good things they do, or even what they are capable of doing so this will show them that there are people in this world that care about their education, besides me. :) I am so excited! Can't wait!! Thank you so much! With gratitude, Ms. T.

"I gave to this project because math education is such an incredible experience - the moment when you 'get it' is priceless. It lays the foundation for all kinds of other study, too."
"I donated because I want to support kids in New York (City)."
"Thank you so much! Every little bit counts. My students were very happy to hear that this project is getting noticed. :) Can't wait to get it fully funded so we can get those calculators!"

"I gave to this project because as an engineer, I realize how important math is in the world around us. Many kids are taught that math is hard, so they are intimidated and give up. I want to help encourage them to see that it's within their grasp and to encourage them towards a future using mathematics to help make our world a better place!"
"I gave to this project because kids in disadvantaged areas need to have the same tools that wealthy kids are given to succeed."
"Thank you so much! EVERYONE ROCKS!! Please continue to forward to friends to help! Thank you!"

"I helped because too often technology acts as a divider between rich and poor. I hope you learn Polar equations better than I did!"
"We gave to this project because these students deserve to have the tools they need to be successful."

"I gave to this project because I understand the impact of not having the appropriate tools. I hope this will give some of you the confidence you need but will also help even the playing field a bit. Good luck. Make it happen."
