Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach math and business to 9th and 11th grade students in a high school that is in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Philadelphia. A neighborhood that has historically been considered a drug haven and is regularly in the news for shooting and stabbing related issue. I believe that knowledge of business and enterprise is not only going to awaken their ambitions, but will also be their ticket to a better life for themselves and for their community.

There are no business books for my students that give adequate case studies and expose them to variety of business matters.

Using historically highly prized business books, we will read summaries and discuss the aspects proposed in that book. Thereby having a better understanding about the topics.

By supporting this project, you are promoting better lives through educations to children of an otherwise decelerate community, exposing them to opportunities that are typically not shown to them and helping their general community that they live in.
