I teach in a K-5 elementary school with 375 students. We service many military dependent children and their families. Most of the children come from 2 parent working families or whose parents have been deployed. The military and other causes have brought these students to our area, and their extended families are located all over the country.
Parent involvement is a must with successful students and learning. We need this inexpensive camcorder to bridge the gap between home and school so that our parents feel involved in their children's learning.
I need 1 Flip Video Camcorder to make my students' learning more meaningful and to help their parents/families feel a part of their everyday school lives. Our learning projects will be hands-on and exciting discoveries where we want to share our successes with the important people in our lives. By having a Flip Video, my students can empower their working or deployed parents to feel a part of their lives at school.
You will ensure that my students have every opportunity to share their learning with moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and all family members who otherwise may not have been able to see a presentation about a science project or hear a story being read. The students will take pride and be eager to share their learning experiences.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
