"Every child deserves the right to explore the world around them. I teach math, science, and social studies to 1st grade students. I teach in a title 1, inner city school where literacy often overshadows science and math.
My students face having limited science materials to complete the essential 5 E's process which is so important in inquiry based learning. Our library also has limited amounts of books that can engage the students in exploring a topic further. Having an exploration table with essential materials will really get my students excited about learning.
An aquarium will give the children a chance to have a class pet and see another example of a living thing. The 5 senses library will help students identify how they use their senses to observe the world around them. The science exploration centers and magnets will give my students a chance to get real hands on experience with materials they may not see in their homes.
Your help will ensure that all students get a quality education. Unfortunately, all schools are not equally funded so there is a lack in some areas. With your help my students do not have to see that lack in their classrooms.
My students need hands on science materials, such as a classroom aquarium, and books to get excited about exploring the world.

Dear Lance, Laura, Margaret in CO, Kerrie, Michelle, Colleen, April N, Morgan, Louise, Mandy, M. Giant and M. Edium, Lara, Jeni, Andre G., Dina, charmaine, Jane Elizabeth, Reana and Melissa,
I just wanted to take this time to let you all know how much of a difference you've made in my classroom. My students were lost for words as I displayed the new learning centers, new books, and the plant and root grower. The big surprise was the fish aquarium. Some of my students have never had a pet at home or in a class. This is truly a new experience for most of them. We even had a contest to name the fish. I am so excited to be able to show them another example of a living thing in our classroom. The impact this project has made on my students is huge. My classroom has truly been transformed to a real science lab with engaging materials. My students now have proper materials to explore and manipulate so they can test their own hypothesis. I could not have done this by myself, or it would have taken me to the end of the school year to buy these items. Your support is so appreciated. All of you have truly helped me as a teacher prove science is not just reading books and answering pre printed questions. Science can be fun, interactive, exciting, and teachable. Thank you again......

Dear Lance, Laura, Margaret in CO, Kerrie, Michelle, Colleen, April N, Morgan, Louise, Mandy, M. Giant and M. Edium, Lara, Jeni, Andre G., Dina, charmaine, Jane Elizabeth, Reana and Melissa,
I just want to send another thank you note for all of your thoughtful donations. Getting essential science materials for students to explore is so meaningful in the primary grades. It opens the door to so many possibilities that my students probably won't get any where else.
Because of your thoughtful donations my students will have a class pet, explore with magnets, and have instant learning centers with each unit. The five senses library books will give the students a chance to connect literacy with science.
Again thank you all so........... very much. I can't wait to share the awesome news with my class.
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.
