"The tambourines fall apart, there is no sand on the sand block and the cymbals have lost their bang.

I teach poor children who are considered high-risk students. Many do not have food to eat at home and receive free lunches at school. Many are faced with going home from school to abusive or neglectful homes. We work very diligently to teach these children ways they can change their future using the Great Expectations methodology.

The students I teach on a daily basis deal with toys and things at home that are not a good quality. They come to school and are faced with the same types of issues when it comes time to play instruments in music. I am almost embarrassed to let them play them.

I have literally spent countless hours repairing tambourines, repainting and resanding sand blocks and trying to match cymbals to pairs. I work hard to provide my students with the best music education possible, and that includes playing instruments. That is extremely hard to do when the instruments are in poor shape.

My students are in need of new rhythm band instruments. By purchasing ten boxes of the Bob McGrath Rhythm band sets, my students will be able to work with a partner, learning about reading music and working with others. This will also allow my students to fully orchestrate a rhythm band accompaniment.

Children are the future and that future has already begun. By supporting my students and helping us get ten new sets of instruments, you may inspire one child to stay in school and be the next Mozart or Beethoven. Your donations teach them important lessons about life as well. My students learn that it is important to give back and encourage others to do their best.

My students need quality rhythm instruments that are not falling apart.

Dear Ron, Brian of WhiteNoiseMetal.com, Barrie, Chris, Amanda, Stephanie, Dara, Abbie, Michelle, Rachael, William, Shannon, Boober, Clinton, CJ, Leigh Ann, Bobby, Martin, Coy, Monty, Ms. Morris, Jennifer, Steven and Anonymous Donors,
I want to say thank you very much for taking the time and effort to donate to my classroom. My students are very important in my life and I want you to know t your unselfish donation to their education is a treasure to both them and myself. To be able to teach and guide my students in learning rhythm and to build the bridge between music, reading and math is an incredible journey and with the addition of new instruments, the journey is becoming more and more fun. If a student cannot enjoy learning, how can they recall it later in life to help in a situation? Thank you very much for caring and for making a difference.

With gratitude,
Ms. M.
