"I teach the 15 most dedicated students in all of the United States! My kindergarten class in our high need community is unbelievably invested in working to make sure their brains grow bigger this year...to become fantastic first graders!

Unfortunately, our classroom (or "roomlet" as we call it) is too small to fit enough tables or desks for all students to comfortably work on one lesson simultaneously. This means group instruction must be done on the carpet. With these white boards and markers, students will have a hard surface to do guided and independent practice all seated together on the carpet!

All we need is a class set of white boards- one side unlined for math practice, the other lined for writing and phonics practice as well as a set of markers to use throughout the year. As simple as it sounds, using a white board and marker instead of pencil and paper gets my students even more excited about learning. I am compelled to take this excitement and fuel it into something even bigger...we are already talking about what colleges everyone will attend when they graduate high school! This proposal will directly influence and improve group instruction in all subject areas in our classroom, and encourage students to work even harder to meet our learning goals!

Your help will ensure that my students continue to be excited about learning, while also making group instruction possible in a classroom with limited space and resources! Your support does make a difference and will be greatly appreciated.

My students need white boards and markers so that we are able to do whole group instruction in reading and math on our carpet.

Dear Tracy, George Kaiser Family Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
I cannot begin to express the appreciation I have for the generous contributions received through Donors Choose to ensure academic success in our classroom. My students have already been hard at work with our whiteboards and markers for both individual practice and whole group instruction in reading, math, and writing. These whiteboards get them excited about learning and aid in utilizing our small space to the best of our ability. Without your support of this project, we would not have this valuable classroom learning tool!

With gratitude,
Ms. H.

Dear Tracy, George Kaiser Family Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your support of my project. My classroom environment will be enriched and student achievement will be increased as a result of your generous donation. The supplies that you have funded for my room will enable my class to experience whole group lessons in both writing/literacy as well as math which will be vital to their success in moving to the first grade. My students are already so excited to receive and utilize our supplies to their fullest extent, and we cannot wait to follow up with you about how we use them to reach our goals for the year! Thank you again.

With gratitude,
Ms. H.
